Square pegs in round holes

Once upon a time, I had a blog. I ended up writing mostly personal observations about tech trends. (I’ve been poking around and experimenting since Windows 3.2 and, later, Macintosh System 7.) ¬†Eventually I got bored and stopped.

Then Google made me so mad¬†that I had to start blogging again. Gmail was one of the best things to happen to the internet. It was so much better than its competitors that it had no competitors, however briefly that period lasted. Sadly, they’ve spent the last several years smashing square pegs, like Google+, through Gmail’s round holes.

G+ is still garbage, and the last two days that I’ve spent trying to figure out just what the hell I’m sharing with whom though Gmail reminds me how stark the contrast is with the dazzling thing it once was.
